Cheat : Hints: Single player - start out by converting all your research points to colonization, robotic mines. Colonize planets with green smiley faces first. Concentrate on building construction facilities on new planets and buy construction points at first to get the construction sector going. Once you've got 2-3 upgrades in the construction sector, switch over to building research facilities. After awhile, redistribute your research points so that you're researching all types of technology. Be sure to research cerametal and fighter bases early. Don't build orbital facilities (aside from shipyards) until you need them. If you see an enemy headed for one of your planets, pause the game (backslash) and then build an orbiting fighter base and missile base. Try to take over all planets at intersection solar systems--ones that connect with three or more other solar systems. This will block your opponents until they research longer range drives. Add fighters to your carriers and battleships--they can frequently win battles all by themselves. Don't forget to pack some nuclear bombs or other weapons capable of attacking planets--you can't just blast them from space. When attacking fighter and missile bases, get right up next to them unless you've got fighters of your own.
